The Tampa Bay Rays blanked the Miami Marlins 4-0 on Tuesday night at Marlins Park. Miami(10-30) has lost six consecutive games and nine of their last 10 contests. Both teams are playing a two-game series.
Tampa Bay(25-15) got out to a 1-0 lead in the second inning. Avisail Garcia lifted a solo home run to center field on a 0-2 pitch. Garcia knocked in Tommy Pham with a base hit into left field during the top of the sixth.
The Rays loaded the bases in the eighth inning. Kevin Kiermaier was able to walk and Pham crossed the plate for a three-run margin. Tampa Bay had the bases loaded again in the final inning. Yandy Diaz scored on a infield hit by Garcia.
