The Lake Worth Trojans leaped by the Olympic Heights Lions 44-7 at Corey Lewis Stadium on Thursday night. It was the first regular season football game played in Palm Beach County this year.
Lake Worth(1-0) scored on their first possession at 10:42 of the first quarter. Quarterback Ke'andre Hollis raced up the middle and scored from 28 yards away. They compiled a two-point conversion run by wide receiver Jocely Celin to make it 8-0.
The Trojans expanded their lead to 16-0 with 4:19 left in the first. Hollis went through the left side of the line for a three-yard touchdown.
In the second quarter, Olympic Heights(0-1) closed it to 16-7 at 10:27. Wide receiver Paul Mentor got a shovel pass from quarterback Blake Moreland, went to the right sideline and sprinted in from 53 yards out.
It became 22-7 for Lake Worth at the 6:29 mark. Running back Del Louidor busted through the middle for a five-yard score.
The Trojans made it 30-7 with 2:36 remaining in the first half. Louidor cut to the left hash marks on a 15-yard touchdown run. The Lions surrendered two more touchdowns to Lake Worth in the second half.
