The Atlantic Eagles challenge the Glades Central Raiders at Effie C. Grear Field in Belle Glade on Friday night. Glades Central has plenty of competition throughout South Florida in Class 4A while Atlantic is near the top in Palm Beach County for Class 7A.
Atlantic(1-0) dominated in their only game of the 2019 season with a 40-13 defeat of Palm Beach Central. Guenson Alexis gets to start at quarterback and has a capable backup with Jacoby Dorch. Running back Montahj Joseph is expected to get most of the carries from the backfield. Wide receivers Tyrese Blue and Jordan Cash are the primary threats in the passing game.
Glades Central(2-0) has the advantage of playing their first four games at home. They beat Boca Raton 41-13 in the home opener and barely survived Wellington 27-24 in overtime. The Raiders can go with Marion Moreland or Zomarion Harper at quarterback. They will mostly throw the ball to wide receivers Desna Washington, Ja'Vontae Williams and Romaud Porter.
