The Atlantic Eagles host the Chaminade-Madonna Lions at Atlantic Stadium in Delray Beach on Friday night. It is not often to find a Class 3A school face a Class 7A school in the middle of the season.
Chaminade-Madonna(3-1), the two-time defending FHSAA Class 3A state champions, will make a rare appearance in Palm Beach County. The Lions opened the season with victories over McArthur, Hallandale and Miami Christian. They were edged at home last week by Carol City 14-13. Running back Thaddius Franklin will be the focal point of their offense.
Atlantic(2-0) has played just one game in the last three weeks and has not yet played a home contest. They took Palm Beach Central 40-13 in the season opener and had a 26-0 halftime. Last week they visited Glades Central and hammered them 40-3. The Eagles have a strong backfield with Guenson Alexis at quarterback and Montahj Joseph at running back.
