The Deerfield Beach Bucks challenge the Blanche Ely Tigers at Richard L. Williams Stadium in the sixth annual McDougle Bowl on Saturday night. The rivalry has been one-sided as the Bucks have outscored the Tigers 131-11 in their last three meetings. Deerfield Beach won 46-0 at home last year after they retired Denard Robinson's number 16 jersey.
Deerfield Beach(0-2) has lost their first two contests of the 2019 season. They were upended by Carol City 24-12 in the season opener at Miami and fell to St. John's 52-30 in Washington D.C. last week. The Bucks will rely on their rushing attack with running back Jaylan Knighton in the backfield. They can go with either Michael Pratt or Derohn King in the quarterback position. Wide receivers Xavier Restrepo, Deajaun McDougle and Bryce Gowdy look to make pass receptions down the field.
Blanche Ely(2-0) won their first two games on the road this year. The Tigers shut out Northeast 32-0 and they handled Coral Glades 36-17. They moved out of a district that had them tangle with St. Thomas Aquinas and Fort Lauderdale for the last four years. Blanche Ely is now in a district with three different Palm Beach County schools that consists of Atlantic, Olympic Heights and West Boca Raton.
