The ratings for the Miami/Fort Lauderdale region were released. The results were the same as 560 The Joe WQAM-AM remained on top for the third straight month.
WQAM leaped from a 1.0 to a 1.2 in the period as the station doubled their audience in the last three months. They have an improved lineup with Dan Le Batrard and Stugotz plugged in at middays. The Miami Dolphins and University of Miami Hurricanes broadcasts have helped them regardless of their win-loss records.
Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM improved from a four-year worst 0.3 to a 0.5 in the month. The audience has taken time to adjust to the new lineup changes that included the afternoon show simulcast of Marc Hochman and Channing Crowder.
Miami Sports 940 WINZ-AM rose from a 0.2 to a 0.3 in the period. They have compiled a 0.3 in five of the last six months.The Miami Marlins finished up a disappointing 100-loss season. WINZ still has University of Florida football along with the Fox Sports Radio lineup for 18 hours on weekdays.
After moving up to a 0.2 last month, Fox Sports 640 South Florida WMEN-AM dropped back to a 0.1, which they have in eight of the last nine periods. The New York Yankees clinched the American League East Division for a playoff run along with a good start for Florida Atlantic University football.
