The Florida Panthers edged the Nashville Predators 3-2 in a shootout at Bridgestone Arena on Saturday night. The Panthers extended their point streak to five games.
Florida(3-2-3) compiled two goals in the second period. Denis Malgin placed in a power-play goal at 6:27 to go for a 1-0 lead. Brett Connolly scored his fourth goal in three games with 51 seconds left in the frame.
The third period belonged to Nashville(4-3-1). Roman Josi connected with a tally at the 9:07 mark and they tied the contest 2-2 as Kyle Turris scored with the man advantage with 6:30 remaining in the period.
The Panthers won the game during a shootout. Vincent Trocheck converted on the Cats second shootout attempt. Turris missed on the Predators third attempt to give Florida the victory.
