The St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders host the Plantation Colonels on Friday night at Brian Piccolo Stadium in a District 14-7A game. It is a renewed high school football rivalry in central Broward County between undefeated teams. Both schools played in the same district until 2014 and then Colonels moved up to Class 8A.
Plantation(6-0, 2-0), who has a chance to clinch the district with a win, has outscored their opponents 282-35 during the campaign and scored at least 38 points in every contest. The Colonels captured the annual Mayor's Cup and beat South Plantation 61-7 last week. Quarterback Gerard Nesbitt will get the opportunity to connect passes downfield to wide receivers Jacolby George, Carlson Armstrong, Devin Howard and wingback Mark Anthony Clark.
St. Thomas Aquinas(5-0, 1-0) have dominated contests and outscored their opponents 222-66 this season. The Raiders traveled to Jacksonville last week and defeated the defending FHSAA Class 8A state champions Mandarin 56-28. Running back Jaedon Henry is the main clog of their rushing attack. STA quarterback Zion Turner has a core of wide receivers to throw the ball to that includes Marcus Rosemy, Jahvante Royal and The'Andris Freeman.
