The Miami Dolphins held off the Indianapolis Colts 16-12 at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday. The Dolphins have strung two straight victories.
Miami(2-7) got off to a 3-0 lead at 6:44 of the first quarter. Jason Sanders was able to kick a 47-yard field goal.
The Dolphins increased the gap to 10-0 with 1:52 left in the second. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick rushed to the right side and scored from 11 yards away.
Indianapolis(5-4) closed the deficit during the second half. Adam Vinatieri booted a 25-yard field goal at 7:50 and a 39-yard field goal with 38 seconds to go in the third quarter.
The Colts would take their only lead of the contest early in the fourth quarter. Quarterback Brian Hoyer connected a one-yard pass to tight end Jack Doyle on the left side and they led 12-10.
The Fins regained the lead in the final minutes of the game. Sanders hit a 45-yard field goal with 5:45 remaining and added another 45-yard field goal with 3:31 left to make it 16-12.
