The Miami Heat beat the New Orleans Pelicans 109-94 on Saturday night at American Airlines Arena. The Heat have won seven of their last 10 games and remain second in the Eastern Conference. The Pelicans now have the second worst record in the Western Conference.
Miami(9-3) took a 29-22 lead during the opening quarter and were up 54-49 by halftime. New Orleans(3-9) could not get any momentum in the second half and trailed 78-65 after three quarters.
Kendrick Nunn poured in a team-high 22 points for Miami. They also got several double-doubles in the contest. Jimmy Butler put together 16 points and 13 assists along with eight rebounds. Bam Adebayo compiled 18 points and 14 rebounds. Nickeil Alexander-Walker dropped in a game-high 27 points for the Pelicans.
