The Miami Heat fell to the Los Angeles Lakers 95-80 on Friday night at Staples Center. The Lakers have won seven of the last 21 meetings between both clubs. It concluded a three-game road trip for the Heat.
The Lakers have won seven straight games. They now have the best record in the National Basketball Association.
Los Angeles(7-1) moved out to a 28-21 lead after one quarter and were up 48-45 at halftime. The Lakers went on a 14-5 run during the third and Miami(6-3) trailed 78-66 at the end of three quarters.
The Heat were led by Jimmy Butler with 22 points. Goran Dragic added 19 points while Bam Adebayo almost had a double-double with 11 points along with nine rebounds. LeBron James scored 25 points against his former team. Anthony Davis finished short of a double-double with 26 points, nine rebounds and seven assists for the Lakers.
