The New York Giants stomped the Miami Dolphins 36-20 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday. It was the second straight game that the Dolphins played in East Rutherford, New Jersey. They faced the New York Jets last week and lost.
Miami(3-11) scored first at 9:03 of the second quarter. Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick threw a 20-yard touchdown pass up the middle to wide receiver DeVante Parker.
New York(3-11) quickly answered back at the 8:01 mark. Quarterback Eli Manning was able to connect a 51-yard pass to wide receiver Golden Tate for a score to tie it 7-7.
The Fins reclaimed the lead 10-7 with 44 seconds left in the first half. Jason Sanders, who kicked a franchise-record seven field goals last week, booted a 24-yard field goal.
In the third quarter, the Giants moved ahead 14-10 at the 11:53. Wide receiver Darius Slayton caught a five-yard touchdown pass from Manning.
Sanders added another field goal for the Dolphins from 47 yards out at 8:44. The Giants got a safety as they tackled running back Patrick Laird in the end zone with 6:20 to go in the third. Running back Saquon Barkley plunged in from one yard away on their ensuing drive with 5:17 to give them a 23-13 lead.
Barkley added another touchdown six seconds into the fourth quarter as he rushed to the left side for a 17-point lead. New York reached the end zone again with 4:41 remaining when running back Javorius Allen busted in from one yard out and they led 36-13.
Miami got one last scoring drive with 1:54 left. Parker received a 29-yard pass on the left sideline from Fitzpatrick.
