The Miami Heat slipped by the Philadelphia 76ers 108-104 on Wednesday night at Wells Fargo Center. It was the final contest of a three-game road trip for the Heat as they reached second place in the Eastern Conference with the victory. The 76ers lost their first home game of the regular season and dropped to fifth in the conference.
Philadelphia(20-9) stormed out to a 29-19 lead after one quarter. Miami(20-8) raced back to outscore the Sixers 37-19 in the second to go up 56-48 at halftime. The Heat maintained an eight-point lead at the end of three quarters and stretched it to a 16-point margin during the fourth.
Kendrick Nunn scored a game-high 26 points for Miami while Bam Adebayo fell short of a double-double with 23 points and nine rebounds. Former Sixer Jimmy Butler had 14 points and seven rebounds. Joel Embiid compiled a double-double of 22 points and a game-high 19 rebounds for the 76ers. Former Heat player Josh Richardson and Ben Simmons both dropped in 17 points each.
