Miami Marlins chief executive officer Derek Jeter was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame on Tuesday. He has been a part of the Marlins organization following the end of the 2017 season. He was one vote short of being the second player ever to be put in unanimously. His teammate pitcher Mariano Rivera received 100 percent of the votes in 2019.
Jeter played his entire 20-year career with the New York Yankees from 1995 until 2014. He helped that organization capture five World Series titles in 1996, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2019. The Yankees also won seven American League championships.
