Former Miami sportscaster Jon "Boog" Sciambi will be part of the Boston Red Sox Radio Network. He will announce several games for the team during the 2020 season. He did announce a Red Sox game with Joe Castiglione back on September 9.
Sciambi was onced part of the Florida Marlins Radio Network. He was the studio host beginning in the 1997 season and handled it for two years. Sciambi added duties as a play-by-play announcer in 1999 and held that position until 2004.
He joined ESPN on a part-time basis after the 2004 baseball season to announce baseball games and college basketball games on television. Sciambi worked as the television play-by-play announcer for the Atlanta Braves from 2007 to 2009. He returned to ESPN on a full-time basis to call baseball and college basketball games on television and radio in late 2009. He was later elevated to radio voice of Sunday Night Baseball and the Major League Baseball All-Star Game.
Sciambi, a Boston College grad, was first noticed locally on 560 WQAM-AM from 1993 to 1997. He started off as a producer, moved into the evening host spot and then co-hosted a midday program with original Florida Panthers radio play-by-play announcer Chris Moore during the mid 1990s. Sciambi was a studio host of Florida Panthers radio broadcasts during the 1995-96 season. He also was the midday host on Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM in 2004 and 2005.
