The Miami Heat were defeated by the Los Angeles Clippers 128-111 at Staples Center on Wednesday night. It was the first contest of a six-game road trip for the Heat. Miami acquired Andre Iguodala from the Memphis Grizzlies prior to the game.
The Clippers had a 25-23 edge after one quarter, however Miami (34-16) bounced back and led 58-55 at halftime. Los Angeles(36-15) went on a 21-7 spurt to begin the second half and were up 92-80 at the end of three quarters. The Heat trailed by six points 109-103 with 3:20 left in the fourth and then the Clippers finished off with a 19-8 run.
Derrick Jones Jr. had a team-high 25 points along with nine rebounds for Miami. Bam Adebayo compiled a double-double of 22 points and 11 rebounds. Paul George led the Clippers with a team-high 23 points and 10 assists for a double-double. Kawhi Leonard added 14 points and nine assists while Landry Shamet dropped in 23 points.
