Florida Panthers original radio voice Chris Moore has been temporarily taken off WFAN-AM from his weekend show in New York City. Station management decided to add additional shifts of their weekday on-air talent to host weekend programs. It was done due to the coronavirus pandemic and to prevent more people to be present at that radio station.
Moore, an Ithaca College grad, was the Panthers radio play-by-play announcer during their first six seasons from their inaugural season in 1993-94 until 1998-99. His game analyst for the first two years was John Moynihan, Alain Chevrier did one season during their 1995-96 big playoff run and Randy Moller worked with him in the broadcast booth for three seasons.
An opportunity happened to him in Miami that would change his career path. Moore was teamed up with John "Boog" Sciambi in 1997 to co-host the midday shift at Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM. He has hosted sports talk radio programs constantly for the past 23 years.
He joined ESPN Radio in 1999 to co-host the evening shift with Chuck Wilson and was given plenty of play-by-play assignments. Moore then went to Fox Sports Radio and worked weekend mornings until late 2009. He landed at SiriusXM Radio as the NFL radio channel morning host in 2010. Moore would start to fill-in as a host at WFAN and later became a weekend host during the 2010s.
