The Miami Marlins have one of the lowest player payrolls in the majors. They are currently 27th overall in Major League Baseball and 14th in the National League, just ahead of the Pittsburgh Pirates, with a $75 million payroll in 2020.
The Marlins have very low numbers in the next couple of years. There are just three Marlins players under contract for the 2021 season. Corey Dickenson will get $8.5 million while Miguel Rojas will collect $5 million. Brandon Kintzler has either a $4 million club option or a $250,000 buyout clause. The eventual payroll could range between $13.75 million to $17.5 million.
Miami is slated at the moment to have a mininum $500,000 payroll for 2022. The amount is for a possible club buyout of Rojas and a $5.5 million club option should the Marlins keep him.
