Former local sportscaster Scott Kaplan is getting a major job opportunity at KSPN-AM in Los Angeles. He will be the midday host at that radio station for the next two weeks.
He first got noticed in Miami as a sports anchor at Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM in the late 1990s. He moved on to CBS Sportsline.com in Fort Lauderdale to co-host a morning show with Sid Rosenberg. That program's location would be relocated to New York City in 2000 and have WNEW-FM as their flagship station.
Kaplan, a Coral Springs High School and University of Pittsburgh grad, moved on to San Diego where he has been based for the past 19 years. He has hosted sports shows with Billy Ray Smith at XTRA-AM and XEPRS-AM. Kaplan has worked on a YouTube talk show podcast since May 2019.
He has also announced on National Football League games. Kaplan is a sideline reporter for CBS Sports on national television and Westwood One Sports on national radio.
