The National Hockey League has released their 2020-21 regular season schedule. It will be a different outlook for the Florida Panthers in the upcoming season being in a different division and playing only 56 games.
Florida will be realigned to the Central Division for only this season with seven other clubs. They consist of the Tampa Bay Lightning, Carolina Hurricanes, Nashville Predators, Detroit Red Wings, Chicago Blackhawks, Dallas Stars and Columbus Blue Jackets.
The Panthers will play only these seven teams during the regular season. They will host each team four times and visit each club four times.
The top four teams in the Central Division standings will make the NHL postseason. They will face other in the first two rounds of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. The eventual winner will play outside of the Central Division for the first time in the Stanley Cup Semifinals.
The Florida Panthers will open up the campaign with home contests against the Western Conference Champion Dallas Stars on January 14 and January 15. The Cats will finish their first homestand versus the Chicago Blackhawks on January 17 and January 19. They conclude the regular season with home games against the Stanley Cup Champion Tampa Bay Lightning on May 6 and May 8.
