The Osceola Kowboys came back to defeat the Miami Palmetto Panthers 9-3 at Traz Powell Stadium on Saturday night in a FHSAA Class 8A state semifinal. The Kowboys will play Seminole for the state title next week in Tallahassee.
Miami Palmetto(6-2) was able to get a 22-yard field goal from Diego Navia with 6:49 to go in the first quarter for a 3-0 lead. It would be their only points of the contest.
The Panthers attempted a 37-yard field goal during the fourth quarter to extend their lead. It was blocked by Osceola(9-2) and returned 81 yards by defensive back Bo Mascoe for a touchdown with 5:15 remaining.
The Kowboys added a safety with 4:33 left in the fourth to go up 9-3. Defensive back Kaylon Walters sacked running back Brashard Smith in the front of the end zone.
