The high school football playoffs for South Florida high schools have been set. It will consist of only teams from Palm Beach County, Broward County and Dade County.
It generally consists of public high schools throughout the tri-county area. All these teams opted out by the end of September not to participate in the 2020 FHSAA Playoffs. They all had their training camps and start of the regular season delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It is a mix of 48 schools from the tri-county area. Palm Beach County has 14, Broward County has 19 and Dade County has 15.
There will be a three-round playoff in a gold bracket and silver bracket. The teams have been separated in three classifications which are Class 8A, Class 7A and Class 6A-1A.
Class 8A gold bracket will have #8 Stoneman Douglas at #1 Columbus, #7 Park Vista at #2 Western, #6 Jupiter at #3 Deerfield Beach and #5 Monarch at #4 South Dade.
Class 8A silver bracket has #8 Wellington at #1 Palm Beach Gardens, #7 Coral Springs at #2 Boca Raton, #6 Flanagan at #3 Coral Gables and #5 Miami at #4 Coral Glades.
Class 7A gold bracket consists of #8 North Miami at #1 Atlantic, #7 American at #2 Plantation, #6 Seminole Ridge at #3 Dwyer and #5 South Plantation at #4 Miramar.
Class 7A silver bracket teams slated are #8 Miami Beach at #1 Blanche Ely, #7 Hialeah at #2 Everglades, #6 Olympic Heights at #3 South Broward and #5 Fort Lauderdale at #4 Royal Palm Beach.
The rest of the high schools will be combined into brackets from Class 6A all the way down to Class 1A. The gold bracket has #8 Stranahan at #1 Killian, #7 Pahokee at #2 Dillard, #6 Booker T. Washington at #3 Glades Central and #5 Carol City at #4 North Miami Beach.
The silver bracket will have #8 Coral Springs Charter at #1 Hallandale, #7 Suncoast at #2 Coconut Creek, #6 Boynton Beach at #3 Miami Springs and #5 South Miami and #4 Miami Norland.
