South Florida high schools in the 2020 FHSAA Playoffs stayed at the same number of teams last weekend. All seven tri-county schools left in the postseason prevailed with six of them winning on the road. Small schools played in the state semifinals while large schools were involved in the regional finals.
Four Broward County teams were able to advance. They included defending Class 7A state champion St. Thomas Aquinas, defending Class 3A state champion Chaminade-Madonna, Cardinal Gibbons and American Heritage.
Three Dade County schools went to the next round. Teams that remain are defending Class 2A state champion Champagnat Catholic, Miami Central and Miami Palmetto.
