Le Batard announced back on December 3 that he was leaving the ESPN organization. His production crew, known as The Shipping Container, that consists of Michael Ryan, Roy Bellamy, Billy Gil, Chris Cote and Anthony Calatayud are also exiting. Their associate Allyson Turner is staying at ESPN.
The radio program with Le Batard and Stugotz launched as an afternoon talk show at Sports Talk 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM when the radio station flipped to a sports talk format in August 2004. They were added to the ESPN Radio nationally syndicated lineup in September 2013.
The radio show was shifted to the midday slot in September 2015. Le Batard and Stugotz was moved from The Ticket to 560 WQAM-AM in August 2019 and they lost their local one-hour mid-morning spot. The program was cut to two hour and placed in late mornings in August 2000 when Mike Greenberg was plugged into the midday shift.
The television show Dan Le Batard is Highly Questionable began on ESPN2 in August 2011. It was co-hosted by him, his father Papi, Bomani Jones, Stugotz and other guest co-hosts over the last nine years. Highly Questionable was eventually shifted to the ESPN channel.
Le Batard, a University of Miami grad, had a long reign as a sports columnist with the Miami Herald. He began to host weekend programs on ESPN Radio prior to hosting a local radio program with Stugotz at 790 The Ticket.
