Florida Panthers head coach Joel Quenneville was named a finalist for the Jack Adams Award. Quenneville led the Panthers to second place in the Central Division with 78 points in 2020-21 for their highest point percentage of .705 in franchise history. It was the fourth most points by a team this season. Quenneville won the award with the St. Louis Blues back in 2000.
The Jack Adams Award is given to the head coach who contributed the most to the team's success during the regular season. Rod Brind'Amour of the Carolina Hurricanes and Dean Evason of the Minnesota Wild were the other two finalists.
