The Olympic Heights Lions held off the Suncoast Chargers 14-12 on Thursday night at Corey Lewis Stadium. The Lions usually have the first high school football game to be played in Palm Beach County every year. Reasons include that they have participated in home games on Thursday nights for a decade and the shortage of game officials in Palm Beach County.
Olympic Heights(1-0) will be the only Palm Beach County high school in Class 4M District 12 with Coral Springs, Monarch and Stoneman Douglas of Broward County. Suncoast(0-1) was placed inside the new classification of Class 2M District 9 with Glades Central, The King's Academy and Inlet Grove.
