Pirates Claim Lewin Diaz

     The Pittsburgh Pirates have claimed first baseman Lewin Diaz off waivers from the Miami Marlins. Diaz was designated for assignment a week ago. 

     Diaz played 112 games with the Marlins for the last three seasons. He had a .169 batting average with five home runs and 11 runs batted in last season during 58 contests with Miami.
