Former local high school quarterback Geno Smith has signed a new three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks worth $105 million. He was named the 2022 NFL Comeback Player of the Year on his performance last season with the Seahawks as he threw for 4,282 passing yards and 30 touchdowns.
Smith guided the Miramar Patriots to the FHSAA Class 6A state semifinals back in 2008. He moved on as starting quarterback for West Virigina University while in college football.
