Vernon Carey Jr. Waived By Wizards

     The Washington Wizards have placed center Vernon Carey Jr. on waivers. He once played high school basketball with the University School Sharks. He is the son of former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman Vernon Carey. 

     Carey has participated in just 11 contests this season with the Wizards and has averaged 0.5 points and one rebound per game. He has been in the National Basketball Association for the last three seasons and played in only 37 games.
