Miami Marlins outfielder and designated hitter Jorge Soler opted out of his contract with the Miami Marlins last week. He declined a $13 million player option for 2014. Soler did not receive a qualifying offer from Miami earlier this week.
Soler played the last two seasons with the Marlins and helped them to the postseason in 2023. He had 36 home runs, 75 runs batted in, .250 batting average and a .853 OPS last season.
