The Baseball Hall of Fame made their announcement which players were elected by the Baseball Writers Association of America. Unfortunately, former Miami Marlins outfielder Gary Sheffield was not elected in. It was his final year of eligibility on the writers' ballot.
Sheffield had stints with eight different Major League Baseball teams. He was with the Florida Marlins from 1993 to 1998. Sheffield contributed to the Marlins winning their first World Series in franchise history in 1997.
