The Miami Marlins claimed utility player Otto Lopez off waivers from the San Francisco Giants. He was not in the majors last year and spent time with the Toronto Blue Jays Triple-A affiliate in Buffalo. Lopez was acquired by the Giants from the Blue Jays back on February 13.
Lopez did play Major League Baseball with Toronto in 2021 and 2022. He participated in nine games over a two-season stint and had a .600 batting average along with a 1.236 OPS.
