Marlins Win Finale In Oakland Versus A's

The Miami Marlins played in their final game ever at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum on Sunday and were victorious 12-3. The Marlins avoided a three-game series sweep by the Athletics. The A's snapped a six-game winning streak.
The A's will spend playing their home games over the next three years in Sacramento. Las Vegas will be the Athletics permanent home in 2028. The A's have been based in Oakland since 1968. The franchise previously resided in Philadelphia and Kansas City.
Miami(10-26) rushed out to a 4-0 lead in the opening inning. Jesus Sanchez grounded into a force out for Jazz Chisholm Jr. to score. Two batters later, Nick Gordon clobbered a three-run homer to right-center field on a 1-0 pitch for his fourth home run of the season. Bryan De La Cruz and Sanchez were able to score in front of him on the play.
The Fish increased it to a five-run margin in the top of the second. Josh Bell drove in Christian Bethancourt on a base hit into center field.
Oakland(17-18) put up two runs in the bottom of the fourth and were down 5-2. Darell Hernaiz knocked in Brent Rooker with a single up the middle. Lawrence Butler would later score on a fielder's choice by Kyle McCann.
The Marlins added three more runs in the top of the sixth for an 8-2 advantage. Jonah Bride doubled into the left-field corner and Gordon scored. Bride would then reach home on a double by Bethancourt down the left-field line. Chisholm followed with a single to left field and Bethancourt crossed the plate.
The A's cut the deficit to 8-3 in the bottom of the eighth. Max Schuemann got a base hit up the middle to score Rooker.
