Inter Miami CF Eliminated By Atlanta United FC

     Inter Miami CF were stunned by Atlanta United FC 3-2 in Game 3 of the MLS Cup Eastern Conference Quarterfinals at Chase Bank in Fort Lauderdale. The Herons lost the best-of-three series 2-1 and were eliminated from the postseason. Inter Miami CF won the 2024 MLS Supporters' Shield as they set a Major League Soccer regular season record with the most points in a campaign. 
     There was plenty of scoring between both teams during the first half of play. Matias Rojas gave Inter Miami CF a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute. 
     Atlanta United FC roared back with two goals in a two-minute span to take a 2-1 lead. Jamal Thiare scored for them in the 19th minute and 21st minute. 
     In the second half, Lionel Messi helped the Herons tie the game 2-2 during the 65th minute Luis Suarez picked up the assist on that tally. 
     The shocking upset was completed by Atlanta United FC just 11 minutes later. They regained the lead 3-2 when Bartosz Slisz scored in the 76th minute.
