Panthers Blanked By Canadiens

     Montreal Canadiens goalie Jakub Dobes make his NHL debut with a 34-save shutout as the Habs blanked the Florida Panthers 4-0 at Amerant Bank Arena on Saturday. The Panthers, who last played on Monday, have won 10 of their past 15 games. 
     The Panthers were shut out in back-to-back home games for the first time since 2003. It was the first time in franchise history that Florida was blanked four times in one calendar month. 
     After scoreless opening period, Montreal(15-17-3) scored three times during the second period for a 3-0 lead.  The Canadiens took a 1-0 lead at the 1:39 mark when Kirby Dach put in a forehand shot from the left side of the crease.   
     It became 2-0 for the Habs with 6:09 remaining in the second. Alex Newhook connected a long lead pass from his own blue line. Dach skated through the slot area and backhanded a shot from the crease area past Spencer Knight for his second goal of the contest. 
     Jake Evans added a shorthanded goal with 2:41 left in the period for his ninth goal of the season and a Canadiens 3-0 advantage. 
     Florida(22-13-2) gave up another tally with 5:43 to go in the third period and the Cats trailed 4-0. Juraj Slafkovsky carried the puck down the left side of neutral zone. He angled a pass from the left wing and Cole Caufield released a wrist shot from the top of the crease.
