The Florida Panthers have picked up forward Nico Sturm and a 2027 seventh-round selection from the San Jose Sharks for a 2026 fourth-round pick. The Cats looked to reinforce their forward lines with the loss of Matthew Tkachuk on the long-team injured list.
Sturm participated in his first four seasons with the Minnesota Wild. He was dealt to the Colorado Avalanche late in the 2021-22 regular season and Sturm eventually helped them capture the Stanley Cup. Sturm was with the Sharks for the past three seasons.
