Marlins Walk Off Rockies

The Miami Marlins pushed pass the Colorado Rockies 4-3 at loanDepot park on Sunday. The Marlins wore their throwback black Florida Marlins caps along with their teal and black jerseys for the first time this season. The Fish swept the Rockies in the three-game series to open up the 2026 Major League Baseball season.
The Marlins have a 3-0 record to begin a regular season for the third time in franchise history. They accomplished it in 1997 when the team won their first World Series title and in 2009.
Colorado(0-3) rumbled out to a 3-0 advantage in the top of the first. Jordan Beck hit a bases-loaded double down the left-field line to score Hunter Goodman, Willi Castro and T.J. Rumfield.
Miami(3-0) answered back in the bottom of the first and they were down 3-1. Otto Lopez doubled in the right-center field gap and Jakob Marsee crossed the plate.
The Marlins cut it to 3-2 in the second inning. Austin Slater knocked in Xavier Edwards on a sacrifice fly to right field.
The Fish completed the three-run comeback victory in the bottom of the ninth. Owen Caissie connected with his first home run in a Marlins uniform for a 4-3 win. He socked a two-out, two-run homer over the right-field fence on a 1-0 pitch with Javier Sanoja on base.
