Inter Miami CF Outscores Philadelphia Union

     Inter Miami CF outpowered the Philadelphia Union 6-4 on Sunday night at Nu Stadium. The Herons played their final game before the 2026 World Cup break and will not participate in a contest again until July 22. The Union have the worst record in Major League Soccer.
     Philadelphia(1-10-4) roared out to a 2-0 advantage early in the first half. Milan Iloski scored during the fourth minute and he made it 2-0 on a penalty kick in the 10th minute. 
     Inter Miami CF(9-2-4) quickly came back to make it 2-1 just three minutes later. German Berterame pushed the ball in with his right foot from six yards away into an open net following an assist from Lionel Messi. The Union regained a two-goal lead in the 20th minute on a goal by Bruno Damiani. 
     The Herons responded with three unanswered goals later in the half and leaped to a 4-3 lead. Luis Suarez scored during the 29th minute when he made a chest trap and volleyed the ball in from nine yards out with his right foot. Berterame rifled an 11-yard shot with his right foot and added his second tally of the contest off a Messi feed in the 42nd minute. Suarez collected his second goal of the game in the 44th minute of play as he tapped in a right-footed shot from one yard following a rebound. 
     Philadelphia evened it up 4-4 during stoppage time at the conclusion of the first half. Iloski picked up a hat trick with the third goal in the game when he converted on another penalty kick.
     In the second half, Inter Miami CF reclaimed the lead 5-4 in the 81st minute. Suarez completed his own hat trick as he got his third goal of the contest. He received a square pass and placed in a six-yard shot with his left foot. 
     The Herons would have to wait until stoppage time at the end of the second half to clinch a 6-4 victory. Rodrigo De Paulo buried a right-footed shot from eight yards away.
