Marlins Beat Mets

     The Miami Marlins defeated the New York Mets  4-1 on Saturday at loanDepot park. The Marlins will conclude their seven-game homestand tomorrow. 

     Miami(24-29) raced out to a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Owen Caissie doubled down the right-field line for Jakob Marsee and Connor Norby. 

     The Fish increased it to 3-0 in the third inning. Liam Hicks blasted a solo home run to right-center field on a 1-2 pitch. It ended up being his 10th homer of the season. 

     The Marlins extended their lead to 4-0 in the bottom of the fifth. Hicks belted a solo homer to right field on a 2-2 count for his second home run of the contest. 

     New York(22-30) broke the shutout in the top of the ninth to make it 4-1. Mark Vientos knocked in Tyrone Taylor with a base hit into left field.
