The Colorado Rockies put up three runs in the fourth inning and slipped by the Miami Marlins 3-2 on Sunday at Coors Field. Marlins starter Josh Johnson dropped to 7-10 as he pitched seven innings and allowed three runs on seven hits.
In the first inning, Emilio Bonifacio got on base on a throwing error then Justin Ruggiano doubled to center. After Jose Reyes grounded out, Bonifacio scored on a ground out to third by Carlos Lee for a Marlins 1-0 lead.
Miami extended their lead in the fourth inning as John Buck led off with a solo homer off Drew Pomeranz to center field. It was his ninth home run of the season.
Colorado overtook the Marlins in their half of the fourth. Josh Rutledge opened it up with an infield single and scored on a double to left field by Dexter Fowler. Two batters later, Jordan Pacheco blasted a two-run homer to left field for his second home run this year.
