The Miami Marlins had to wait until the ninth inning to get the only run of the game as they got by the Atlanta Braves 1-0 at Turner Field on Saturday night. The Fish ended their six-game losing streak and at the same time snapped the Braves 14-game winning streak.
Adeiny Hechavarria led off for Miami(44-71) with a triple into deep center field. Atlanta(71-46) relief pitcher Jordan Walden would throw a wild pitch with Ed Lucas at-bat for Hechavarria to score and give the Marlins a 1-0 lead.
Marlins starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi went seven innings, surrendered no runs on one hit and struck out eight for no decision in the game. Braves starter Alex Wood gave up no runs on two hits and struck out seven in six innings. Steve Cishek showed up in the ninth inning and picked up his 24th save this season.
