The Dwyer Panthers will make their longest trip south during the regular season as they take on the Olympic Heights Lions in Boca Raton on Friday night in a District 13-7A game. The Panthers have been considered the top team in Palm Beach County throughout this season.
Dwyer enters the game with a perfect 4-0 record as have outscored their opponents 167-13. They clobbered the Glades Central Raiders 35-0 in Belle Glade, routed the Jupiter Warriors 51-7, shut out crosstown rival the Palm Beach Gardens Gators 33-0 and routed Palm Beach Lakes 50-6 last week at home.
Panthers quarterback Daniel Parr leads all of Palm Beach County with 892 passing yards and 12 touchdown passes. He will throw to a slew of wide receivers that have impacted their season. Johnnie Dixon has caught four of six catches for touchdowns, Clint Stephens has 16 catches for a big schools county-high 278 yards and Ezra Safford has 11 receptions for 265 yards, fourth overall in the county. Running back Alonso Smith is currently second in Palm Beach County large schools with 427 yards rushing.
Olympic Heights(1-2) try to bounce back from a 34-14 loss at Lake Worth last week. They did have a victory opening week at home against the Spanish River Sharks 21-13, but were defeated the following week on the road by the Boynton Beach Tigers 19-6. Quarterback Richard Thompson will lead the way for the Lions on offense.
