Miami Heat beat writer Ethan J. Skolnick has left the Palm Beach Post after three years on the job. He is joining Turner Sports in the same position for Bleacher Report and NBA TV.
Skolnick, a Johns Hopkins University and Columbia University grad, returned for a second stint with the Palm Beach Post in the summer of 2010 when the newspaper decided to go back and cover the Miami Heat on a regular basis. They had eliminated the Miami Heat reporter position one year earlier due to budget cuts.
He started his journalism career as an agate shift staffer at the Baltimore Sun. Skolnick was employed as a sports writer from 1996 until 2001 during his first stint with the Palm Beach Post.
He moved on to the Miami Herald as a sports reporter in 2001. Skolnick completed the trifecta of local newspapers when he joined the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in the mid-2000's as a sports columnist and lasted until July 2010.
Skolnick began to extend his boundaries to radio during the late 2000's as a weekend co-host at 850 WFTL-AM and a morning co-host at 640 Sports WMEN-AM. 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM and 104.3 The Ticket WAXY-FM added him as an early afternoon co-host for several days a week to work alongside Eric Reed in October 2012.
