The Park Vista Cobras host the Spanish River Sharks on Thursday night at GL Homes Stadium in a District 10-8A game. Both schools are on the opposite ends of the standings in the district.
Park Vista(5-1, 2-0) has rumbled through opponents in Palm Beach County since their opening week loss to Colerain in Cincinnati. The Cobras have been on a roll as they picked up victories over Palm Beach Gardens, Seminole Ridge, John I. Leonard and last week against Jupiter.
Qwad Martin returned as starting quarterback last week and had four touchdown passes along with one touchdown run against Jupiter in a 49-7 rout. The team is loaded in the backfield with several running backs that can advance the ball which includes Emmanuel Smith, Jametrius Bentley, Dalton Barkman and Chauncey Mason. Look for wide receivers Renard Cheren and Anthony Milanese to execute sideline patterns to receive the ball.
Spanish River(0-6, 0-2) are winless this season and are unlikely to be victorious against this mighty foe after having a bye last week. They have been outscored 86-13 in their last three games as they lost to the John I. Leonard Lancers 38-7, Wellington Wolverines 27-6 and Boca Raton Bobcats 21-0.
The Sharks have Ben Romer at quarterback and he will try to find his favorite receiver Nigel Caesar for receptions along with wide receiver Michael Lorenz. Running back Jordan Henry will get the bulk of carries from the backfield.
