Doug Abernethy Joins The Ticket

     Doug Abernethy has been named the new vice president and general manager for 104.3 The Ticket and 790 The Ticket WAXY-AM. The announcement was quickly done following the final approval by the United States federal government on the acquisition of both radio stations by Entercom Communications from Lincoln Financial Media on Tuesday. He replaces Maureen Lesourd who held the same post from April 2013 until this week when Lincoln Financial Media owned both stations.
     Abernethy was recently the regional vice president of Radio One radio stations in Houston, Los Angeles, St. Louis and Detroit until March 2015. He was vice president and general manager at Radio One Houston and director of sales at Cox Radio Houston prior to that.
    He started his radio career at WKYS-FM in Washington D.C. in the sales department. Abernethy moved on to AM/FM in Dallas as the general sales manager.
