CBS Radio has named Steve Carver as the new senior vice president and market manager of their Miami radio stations. They consist of Sports Radio 560 WQAM-AM, WPOW-FM and WKIS-FM. He replaces Joe Bell who finished a tenure in South Florida that goes back to January 2006 with Beasley Broadcasting.
Carver was recently the senior vice president and market manager at CBS Radio in Tampa until December 2014 when they exchanged their radio stations with Beasley Broadcasting in a couple of media markets. He has been involved with CBS Radio as a senior vice president and market manager since 2010. Carver was in charge of radio stations in several cities which included Cleveland, West Palm Beach, Los Angeles and Tampa.
He started his radio career with Infinity Broadcasting as a sales manager at WINS-AM in New York. Carver then held the general manager post at WOGL-AM and WOGL-FM in Philadelphia along with WBBM-AM and WBBM-FM in Chicago.
He moved to Tribune Company where he became the vice president and general manager at WGN-AM in Chicago. Carver was elevated to the vice president and general manager position at WATL-TV in Atlanta. He left for the newspaper industry to run the Hartford Courant as the ceo, president and publisher before he joined CBS Radio.
