The Arizona Diamondbacks outlasted the Miami Marlins 3-2 on Sunday. The Fish head to Colorado for their final road stop of the regular season.
The Marlins took a 1-0 lead during the top of the third inning. Giancarlo Stanton knocked in Dan Straily with a base hit into center field.
Miami(73-82) made it a two-run margin in the fourth inning. Brian Anderson powered a ground-rule double to right and J.T. Realmuto crossed the plate.
The Diamonbacks began to chip away at the lead in the bottom of the fifth. Chris Hermann smashed a solo home run to right field on a 1-1 pitch.
Arizona(90-66) tied it up 2-2 in the eighth inning. Daniel Descalso drove in Paul Goldschmidt with a base hit into center field.
In the ninth inning, the D-backs got the victory. J.D. Martinez singled to left field and David Peralta scored the winning run.
