District 10 in Class 8A will be decided as the Atlantic Eagles go seven miles south on I-95 and face the Boca Raton Bobcats on Friday night. The Eagles could become the district champion with an outright win while a Bobcat victory may place the district in a three-way tie for first place with Park Vista.
Atlantic(6-1, 5-0) lost their season opener to Palm Beach Central. The Eagles have rolled off six consecutive wins since then over Dwyer, Park Vista, Spanish River, Santaluces, John I. Leonard and Lake Worth. They have outscored their opponents 167-24 in their last four games.
The Eagles have running backs Shelley Singletary and Corey Cola Jr. who can rush the ball out of the backfield. Wide receivers Corey Gammage, Varrick Lurry-Davis, Cadarius Gaskin, Javone Jackson, Aydin Henningham and Kamareon Williams look to make receptions from quarterback Antoine Williams II.
Boca Raton(5-3, 4-1) is playing their final game of the regular season and have outscored in their last two games 96-14. The Bobcats have been unable to put together three straight wins due to losses from Ridge Community, Palm Beach Central and Park Vista.
Running back Predner Elmon will get most of the carries for the Bobcats on offense. They can go with Michael Pratt or Ajion Benefield at quarterback depending on the situation. Wide receivers Rod Evans and Deltavian Jenkins intend to get open down the field.
