Hurricanes Slip By Seminoles

     The Miami Hurricanes waited until the final seconds of the game to beat the Florida State Seminoles 24-20 at Doak Campbell Stadium on Saturday. It ended a seven-game losing streak by the Canes to the Noles. The contest was originally scheduled for September and had to be moved to October due to Hurricane Irma.
     The Hurricanes had 83 rushing yards while the Seminoles compiled 203 rushing yards. It was the first time in the last 23 meetings that the team with the least running yards won the game.
     Not much scoring occurred in the first half as both teams. The only points was a Florida State(1-3, 1-2) 27-yard field goal by Ricky Aguayo in the first quarter.
     The third quarter belonged to the University of Miami. Michael Badgley kicked a 31-yard field goal for Miami(4-0, 1-0) with 11:12 to go in the third quarter to tie it up 3-3. Wide receiver Braxton Berrios later caught a 21-yard touchdown on the left side from quarterback Malik Rosier for a Canes 10-3 margin.
     Early in the fourth quarter, the Noles scored on their first possession. Quarterback James Blackman, formerly of Glades Central, connected a 15-yard touchdown pass to tight end Ryan Izzo. Aguayo followed with  a 38-yard field goal for the Seminoles at the 6:59 mark and they led 13-10.
     Miami responded with a score and pulled ahead 17-13. Rosier found Berrios again on a touchdown pass from six yards out.
     The Seminoles retook the lead 20-17 with 1:30 remaining. Blackman completed a 20-yard pass to wide receiver Auden Tate.
     The Hurricanes went ahead 24-20 with 11 seconds left. Rosier fired a pass to wide receiver Darrell Langham on the right side of the end zone for a 23-yard touchdown.
