The Deerfield Beach Bucks host the Piper Bengals at Butler Stadium in a District 11-8A game. The Bucks can clinch the district title with a victory over the Bengals.
Piper(1-6, 1-3) were shut out in their first three games of the regular season by Norland, St. Thomas Aquinas and Chaminade-Madonna. After a loss to Monarch, the Bengals picked up their only win of the year against Taravella. They have been outscored 60-231 this season.
The Bengals are led on offense by quarterback Derohn King. Look for him to connect passes with wide receivers Nathaniel Stubbs, Zachary Sewell, Jalind Williams and Brandon Joseph. Running backs Jacari Ponder and Jamarquez Thomas are expected to rush the ball.
Deerfield Beach(6-2, 3-0) have averaged 46 points in their last three games and outscored their opponents 245-74 this season. After their shutout loss to St. Thomas Aquinas, they have roared back with easy wins over Douglas, Blanche Ely and Monarch.
The backfield for the Bucks consists of running backs Jakari Norwood and Jaylan Knighton who will get their share of carries. Kyle Kaplan is in the quarterback spot as he looks to wide receivers Donte Banton, Jaycob Williams, Daejeun McDougle and Cornelius McCoy.
